Dear Colleagues and friends,
All radiographers are invited to the Malaysian Society Of Radiographers Scientific Meeting & 45TH Annual General Meeting. The theme for this event is “RADIOGRAPHER AND THE LAW“. The event will be held at Royal Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on 28th to 29th March 2015.
The field of medical imaging and radiation therapy are rapidly developing with tremendousadvancement in technology, procedures and patient management. It is the professionalresponsibilities of the radiographers to continuously enhance their knowledge and skills to keepabreast with these changes and challenges, with the aim of improving the quality of service and careoffered to patients.
The theme for this year’s scientific meeting is “Radiographers and the law’. The aim of the program isto enable radiographers to acquire insights on issues related to ethics, code of practice and also thelaw that governs medical imaging and radiation therapy. The advanced modalities and proceduresthat pose more risk to patient, highly educated patients and public, more complicated society make-up and the use of social media in communication demand that the radiographers to be well informedand educated on matters relating to legal issues. To know and be aware of each legal consequenceswill place us in a better perspective.
The organizing committees have managed to gather speakers from different agencies and disciplinesto share their experience and knowledge on the theme. MSR encourages all radiographers to makefull use of this opportunity to update themselves on this aspect which has rarely been taken intoconsideration.
