It is my pleasure to announce that University of Malaya along with Institut Fizik Malaysia (IFM) are honoured and privileged to host the first AAPM/IOMP/ISEP Imaging Physics Workshop in Malaysia, from 11 to 14 November 2015 at Armada Hotel, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. This workshop is organized in collaboration with the International Scientific Exchange Program (ISEP) of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) and International Organization of Medical Physics (IOMP). We are honoured to have numerous government agencies, organizations and professional associations to co-sponsor and support this event. Our invited speakers are the members of the AAPM and IOMP who are internationally renowned experts in their fields.
On behalf of the organizing committee, we welcome you to this special event. This four-day CME/CPD workshop is focused to the needs of the medical imaging professionals; including radiologists, oncologists, medical physicists, radiographers, technologists as well as researchers who are involved in the practice of diagnostic, nuclear and oncologic imaging. We have put together a comprehensive program on current medical imaging modalities. Particular emphasis is placed on the increasingly important roles of multimodality imaging in treatment planning and disease management. The program also covers other important topics e.g. regulations and quality assurance programmes, both local and internationally.
10 CME/CPD points will be credited to the participants who have sucessfully completed the workshop (total 24 hours lectures).
The theme for this workshop is “Building Foundations for Sound Clinical Practice”. We are hoping that through an enhanced understanding of the fundamental physics of the technological advancements in this rapidly growing specialty, the level of expertise in medical imaging can be elevated, thus improving health and wellness in the region.
